GO Communications Malaysia has formally entered into a strategic communications partnership with Regional Public Relations (RPR) in India.

The enterprise will see active cross-national exchange of knowledge, resources and personnel between the two agencies and associates within the GO Group, Asia’s independent public relations, marketing and strategic communications network.

To date, the network, led by GO Communications, comprises over 15 affiliated agencies including those in Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, China and Hong Kong. This new venture with the New Delhi-based agency will see the GO Group enlarge its Asian footprint.

NAREDCO SEEKS RATIONALISATION OF GST ON REAL ESTATE SECTOR IN PRE BUDGET MEMORANDUM TO GOVERNMENT

National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), an apex body of real estate sector, to-day requested Government to incentivise developers and home buyers, through upcoming budget 2018-19, to increase supply and purchasing power of home buyers with a view to achieve the Government dream of Housing for All by 2022. In this regard, NAREDCO has already submitted its pre budget memorandum, outlining various recommendations and suggestions and requested for due consideration by the Government.

NAREDCO and its office bearers feel that budget is an important opportunity to further the interests of the home buyers of the country and request Government to consider our demands sympathetically.

Commenting on the memorandum, NAREDCO Chairman Mr. Rajeev Talwar said “We have carefully spelt out our demands and suggestions pertaining to the sector for the upcoming budget. We not only want the sector to grow but also want the homebuyers to benefit. All of this should happen along with an increase in Government revenue from the sector. Our suggestions, if accepted, will be a win-win situation for all the stakeholders.”

“Industry status is something which is long overdue to the sector. Government should help developers in getting better access to funds and also incentivize homebuyers to create demand for the sector, which is facing a lot of challenges”, added Mr. Talwar.

 According to NAREDCO Vice Chairman Mr. Parveen Jain “The real estate sector is standing at the point of inflection.  To grow and fulfill the Government’s dream of Housing for All by 2022 we need Government’s support in various areas. Our memorandum is in line with that.”

Mr. Jain further said “Regulatory requirements are at times very harsh for the sector and affect the pace of growth. We want Government to make them realistic and in sync with genuine business expectations.  Also, the sector which is facing challenges needs Government’s help to tide over the paucity of funds and flexibility in use of the funds. We hope the budget will address our concerns in this regard.”

NAREDCO’s most important demand is to bring housing under construction in 12% GST rate from 18% now with 50% abatement for land from prevailing 33%. This will bring tax rate at the level of around 6% of the property cost.

NAREDCO has suggested that the entire housing from 30 to 150 sq.mtr. Carpet area, under PMAY, should be brought under the purview of section 80 IBA of IT Act 2016, which is at the moment 60 sq.mtr. carpet area, to incentivize private developers to take up affordable housing construction at large scale to meet the supply requirement of 20 million houses by 2022. Section 80IBA provides for deduction of 100% of profit derived from such business.

To incentivise home buyers, NAREDCO has suggested an increase in cap of interest paid on home loan, by home buyers, from Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs. 3 lakhs.

To augment housing stock, NAREDCO has suggested that Capital Gain Tax if invested in building houses (one or more) should be exempted from Capital Gain Tax.

To incentivise rental housing construction in the country, which is at dismal low, in comparison to other developing and developed counties, NAREDCO has suggested a flat tax rate of 10% or increasing deduction limit from 30% to 50%. Further, NAREDCO has also suggested doing away with notional income from property held as stock in trade, by the developers.

For ease of doing business and attract investment, NAREDCO has suggested an online, streamlined and centralized project approval procedure. NAREDCO has also suggested doing away with notional income based on circle rate for computing tax on profit or gain u/s 43CA of IT Act 1961. NAREDCO hopes that the major concerns of the sector will be taken care of while finalizing the budget proposals and the industry will continue to get the support it has been getting from the Government.

FDDI hosted Resurgence 2018 at its Noida Campus

Footwear Design and Development Institute, FDDI, celebrated the award of status of Institution of National Importance (INI), on January 19, 2018 at its Noida Campus. Recognizing the efforts made by FDDI in the fields of education, skill development and nation building, it has been awarded the status of ‘Institution of National Importance’ under Footwear Design and Development Act, 2017. On this achievement, FDDI hosted Resurgence 2018 at its Noida Campus. The event started in the evening with High Tea and networking session. The session provided an opportunity to students and faculties to interact with dignitaries and the renowned industrialists.

Program began with lighting of the lamp. Smt. Revathi Roy, Chairperson welcomed the chief guest and there after Shri Arun Kumar Sinha, Managing Director, FDDI addressed the gathering about the accomplishments of FDDI and the Road Ahead.

Every eight minutes, one woman in India loses the life battle due to cervical cancer. Approximately 1.2 lakh women are suffering from cervical cancer in the country and India alone stands for approximately 25% of global deaths due to it.

Also a study on cervical cancer prepared by ASSOCHAM-National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (NICPR) revealed that 50% of breast cancer patients in NCR are between 25-50 years of age bracket. Breast cancer attributes to 27 % of all cancers in females in India. Also there is an urgent need for creating awareness and early detection else the figure could worsen.

“In view of the growing need for expeditious screening, quality care and expert intervention, we consider it important to enable the cancer patients have ease of access to the world-class medical facilities and the most updated immunotherapy conveniences. Delhi Tops in Rented Floor Search ; Magicbricks Survey

Magicbricks, India’s No.1 property site, analyzed consumer behavior over the last 12 months and “How India searched for Homes in 2017” captured interesting consumer trends in 2017 and tackled the myth that real estate buyers had exited the market due to aftereffects of various policy level interventions during the year.

According to “How India searched for Homes in 2017,” Maharashtra occupied the top spot with seven of its localities outshining to be the most preferred localities around the country. New Delhi remains a winner when it comes to rented properties while Navi Mumbai and Hyderabad are high on the buying meter.

The report – How India searched for Homes in 2017 – also reveals another interesting consumer behavior depicting that the residents are also especially particular about the type of property, down to the floor. Bengaluru is the one city open to mostly all building types. When it comes to specific choices, Hyderabad and Chennai prefer residential houses, plots and villas. Multi-storey apartments are popular in Pune and Navi Mumbai, whereas Delhi, Ghaziabad and Chennai prefer builder floors. Metro cities like Ahmedabad and Mumbai favour penthouses.

Gurgaon is testament to the fact that consumer preference for larger houses is increasing. Other cities like Ahmedabad, Greater Noida, Hyderabad, Pune among others opt for a smaller 1000 sq. ft. Although the 500-750 sq. ft. carpet area option remains the most searched for carpet area in the country, especially in Maharashtra and Kolkata.

Buyers in these top markets not only have preferences for type of house or size of house but they are also particular about the floor. While cities like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane prefer to stay in higher floors, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata mostly opt for the second floor. Delhi and Chennai remain the only cities that prefer the first floor.

That’s not all; lifestyle habits too dictate how people choose to invest in properties. According to the Magicbricks report, cities like New Delhi, Noida, Kolkata are bachelor-friendly, whereas Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai might be a struggle for singles. Unquestionably, New Delhi and Kolkata rank high for non-vegetarians, and Ahmedabad is a city perfect for vegetarians. Also, having a pet in cities like Gurgaon, New Delhi, Noida is fairly acceptable, but Chennai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad are so not pet-friendly.
